The emotionally safe school of Lucknow.

IB PYP from Nursery to Grade 5. ICSE and ISC for senior school. Established in 1979. Lucknow’s first and only IB World School for the Primary Years Programme.

Why families choose Modern.

01

Emotional safety, by design

Class constitutions. Student-led conferences. Reflection over correction. Emotional safety here is built into systems — not assumed.

02

Joy is the teacher.

Children learn best when they’re not afraid. Curiosity is welcomed. Mistakes are celebrated. Learning happens through inquiry, not pressure — and stays with them for life.

03

Rooted for 45 years. Evolving every year.

A multigenerational school built on trust, warmth, and consistent academic quality. IB PYP from Nursery to Grade 5, ICSE-ISC for senior school — all under one Modern School roof.

04

Building lifelong learners.

Preparing students with the skills and attributes they’ll need for life after school — inquiry, self-direction, critical thinking, and the confidence to keep learning.

A 45-year-old banyan tree.

Cultural performances, quiet reading, mindfulness practice — the banyan is where the school slows down together. It is the most photographed corner of campus, and the one most spoken about by alumni.

FROM OUR FAQ SERIES

What emotional safety actually means.

Children can ask questions, share ideas, and make mistakes without fear. Rules are clear and fair. Discipline is calm and predictable. Voices are heard.

Q1

How can a school build emotional safety, instead of just talking about it?

Through systems and everyday practices: small classes, teacher training in emotional intelligence, class constitutions made together, reflection over public correction. It must be intentionally designed, not assumed.

Q2

Why do some children enjoy learning while others lose interest?

Children enjoy learning when it feels meaningful and safe. When they see a real purpose, curiosity builds naturally. They are not afraid to try, make mistakes, and grow.
