Raksha Bandhan

On August 28, 2024, Modern School radiated with the warmth of familial love as it celebrated Raksha Bandhan, a cherished festival that honours the sacred bond between brothers and sisters. Rooted in tradition yet imbued with modern values, Raksha Bandhan is a testament to the enduring affection and commitment shared between siblings.

The school’s Raksha Bandhan celebration emphasised the essence of this auspicious day, where sisters tie a Rakhi around their brothers’ wrists, symbolising their prayers for prosperity, health, and protection. In return, brothers pledge to safeguard their sisters against all adversities.

The objective of the activity was to promote the values of love, care, and mutual respect embodied by Raksha Bandhan. Through inter-house events like the Soulful Art competition, students showcased their artistic talents through mehndi, face painting, tattoo making, and pencil sketching. Judges, including Malavika Kapoor and Ravi Prakash, assessed the creations with keen eyes and discerning taste.

The festival not only strengthened the bonds between students but also enhanced their social skills and aesthetic sensibilities. Winners from Geeta House and Krishnamurti House emerged victorious in both junior and senior categories, showcasing their creativity and dedication.

Raksha Bandhan at Modern School was not just a celebration; it was a reaffirmation of the values of love, protection, and unity that bind us all together. As students exchanged Rakhi threads and heartfelt wishes, they forged memories that would last a lifetime.
