Janmashtami

On August 24, 2024, Modern School was infused with the vibrant spirit of Janmashtami as students from Grades 1 to 12 came together to participate in the Inter-house Janmashtami competition. Held within the school premises, this event showcased the rich cultural heritage and artistic talents of the students while fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie.

The competition featured a variety of events, including the Jhanki competition, Rangoli competition, and a captivating skit portraying the Gita Updesh. Each competition brought forth a dazzling display of creativity and skill, as students poured their hearts into their performances.

In the Jhanki competition, Gita House took the lead with a mesmerising portrayal featuring Satvik, Samaira, Nysa, and other talented students. Meanwhile, Krishnamurti House and Socrates House showcased their artistic prowess in the Rangoli competition, with intricate designs that captured the essence of Krishna’s divine presence.

The highlight of the event was the skit depicting the Gita Updesh, which left the audience spellbound with its poignant portrayal of Krishna’s timeless teachings. Led by Anirudh as the sutradhar and Satwik as Krishna, the skit unfolded with grace and wisdom, earning praise from judges and spectators alike.

Mrs. Gitika Johar and other esteemed judges lauded the students for their exemplary performances and the profound messages conveyed through their acts. The competition not only provided a platform for students to showcase their talents but also instilled essential skills such as critical thinking, self-management, and effective communication.

In a closely contested battle, Vivekanand House emerged victorious, followed by Krishnamurti House and Gita House. The winning houses rejoiced in their success, while the entire school community celebrated the spirit of unity and cultural heritage.

As the event concluded, Sangita Kapoor Ma’am commended the school for its commitment to preserving and promoting Indian culture. She expressed her admiration for the Gita Updesh skit, emphasising its uniqueness and significance in connecting students with their cultural roots

Beyond the competitions, the event featured captivating stage performances, including bhajans, Nritya Natika, role-plays, and dances by students from various grades, further enhancing the festive atmosphere and leaving a lasting impression on all who attended. Janmashtami at Modern School was not just a competition; it was a celebration of tradition, talent, and the enduring legacy of Lord Krishna.
